RiMS Racing – behind the scene

NACON and RaceWard Studio are releasing two videos that give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the development of RiMS Racing.

In a series of developer videos, the teams reveal some of the secrets behind the production of RiMS Racing. This includes working on the physics routines of the KT Engine to create the best possible simulation, the mechanical precision of each of the motorcycles, the game modes, ambient noise, innovative functions such as the status check, which enables a real-time view of the condition of the motorcycle parts, and the extensive customization options of the motorcycles and driver.

The developers’ first video diary shows the various phases in the development of RiMS Racing. It all starts with design and research carried out by the teams in order to be able to create the most realistic motorcycle simulator possible. Accompanied by Art Director Mauro Ferrari, Game Designer Alessandro Carullo and Executive Producer Sergio Rocco, Marco Ponte – CEO of RaceWard Studio and Creative Director of the game – explains the importance of technical details for the design of the simulation and how they enable the players to experience the game as realistic as possible. The episode also highlights the value of the studio’s collaboration with manufacturers like Ducati. Together with Alessandro Valia, the official Ducati test rider, we will take a look at the history of the motorcycle manufacturer and the realism of RiMS Racing.

In the second video, the development team focuses on the various game modes, in particular the career mode, as well as the routes and roads reproduced in the game. Together with Giulio Panzani and Stefano Raddrizzani from the research department of Politecnico di Milano, game designer Alessandro Carullo looks at the physics model that was developed to simulate tire wear during races as perfectly as possible. Just as gamers always strive for maximum performance, this is also a central aspect of the development work at RaceWard, which is why they included experts such as Lorenzo Mauri, a specialist in the field of motorcycle mechanics, as consultants in the development.

With its focus on mechanics as a central component of the game, RiMS Racing offers a great gaming experience and puts technical and driving skills to the test. With the innovative mechanical management, every part of the bike – down to the smallest component – can be optimized. With RiMS Racing, the Italian studio RaceWard wants to raise the level of realism and individualization to a new level. This is made possible by the KT Engine, which was specially developed by KT Racing for motorsport simulations.

In the course of a career that includes over 70 events per season, or during the numerous challenges in multiplayer, RiMS Racing promises complete immersion in the competitive world of motorcycle racing, in which victory depends as much on the driving skills as on the motorcycle itself.

RiMS Racing will be available in stores on August 19, 2021 for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC. The Nintendo Switch ™ version will be available in stores at a later date.
