Mortal Kombat 11

Warner Bros. Games announced that Mortal Kombat 11, the latest in the iconic franchise released by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, has sold more than 12 million copies. Since the first Mortal Kombat game was released in 1992 to date, more than 73 million games in the Mortal Kombat franchise have been sold.

There are also three movies, animated films and numerous television series. In addition, Mortal Kombat Mobile has 138 million installs and millions of people actively play Mortal Kombat every day on consoles or mobile platforms.

“When Mortal Kombat came out nearly 30 years ago, I never imagined it would grow into the series it is today and sell more than 73 million copies,” Ed Boon, creative director at NetherRealm Studios and one of the creators of Mortal Kombat commented; “Our fans are probably the most passionate in the world and we really appreciate how they have supported us over the years.”

Mortal Kombat 11 is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Stadia. Mortal Kombat 11 originally came out in April 2019 and became the fastest-selling title in the series’ history. The latest edition, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, released in November 2020, is an expanded version of the critically acclaimed Mortal Kombat 11 game that will be available at the 23rd and 24th D.I.C.E. Awards of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences with the award for the best fighting game of the year, as well as the IGN as “Best fighting game 2019”.
