Developments in the Pentakill universe
This announcement follows some exciting developments in the Pentakill universe. In the past few weeks, the band announced their long-awaited third full album, III: Lost Chapter, and then released a game in an alternate reality (ARG) that not even Pentakill’s most loyal fans knew about, and that marks the beginning of a journey through the world heralded the secret story of Pentakill.
Recently, Riot Games released Music Sessions: Vi, a collection of 37 songs created in collaboration with 21 artists in the instrumental music industry. The album was created for the streaming and creative community by Riot and is safe to use for any copyright infringement. Wave has already developed virtual experiences for artists such as The Weeknd, John Legend, Dillon Francis, Alison Wonderland, Tinashe and others, reaching millions of viewers around the world.
Additionally, these award-winning artists for Lost Chapter are supported by Tyler “TELLE” Smith (The Word Alive), Adam “Nolly” Getgood (Periphery), Benjamin Ellis (Bloodshot Dawn), keyboardist Jose “Atlan” Aranda, and violinist Ray Chen.
The ARG campaign, which was created in collaboration with the creative studio We Are Royale, already started on August 29th on the @riotgamesmusic channels on social media. We were invited to crack a series of riddles, puzzles, and encrypted messages from a mysterious source that later turned out to be Viego (a League of Legends character who seeks to perfect the world of metal). Once Pentakill fans have solved the ARG puzzles over the course of four days, Riot Games will ask them to decide how to proceed with Lost Chapter.
III: Lost Chapter represents Riot Games’ latest effort to penetrate music and the metaverse through character-driven experiences. Riot Games Music has made waves in the Metaverse with K / DA, a K-pop-inspired girl band, and hip-hop band True Damage, both of whom are League of Legends characters.
III: Lost Chapter was created by the composers, artists, producers and audio engineers on the in-house music production team at Riot Games Music. The album team consists of former contributors to II: Grasp of the Undying such as the well-known rock / metal singer Jorn Lande (Masterplan) as the voice of Karthus, the singer Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast) as the voice of Kayle and Per Johansson.
Toa Dunn of Riot Games Music said: “We’re excited to push the boundaries of music and storytelling with Pentakill,”
Jarred Kennedy, Wave’s chief executive officer added: “Riot Games is the perfect partner for Wave as the development studio is one of the few who use music and new technology to expand their worlds outside of games,”
Riot Games Music has already announced that III: Lost Chapter will be a concept album that will cover a number of subgenres of metal to reflect Pentakill’s journey into new realms of sound. Pentakill is a fictional heavy metal band that played with the electrifying voices of Karthus and Kayle, the brute riffs of Mordekaiser (the master of metal), the hard bass of Yorick, the bewitching harmonies of keyboard player Sona and the thunderous beats of drummer Olaf trumps.
The ARG campaign culminates in the interactive concert experience on September 8th, during which we can not only determine how the journey will end, but also have the first opportunity to listen to the album III: Lost Chapter in full. The album will be available on all major streaming platforms right after the concert is over. We can also save the album to our playlists before it is released.
