ArenaNet and NCSOFT gave us a glimpse into Guild Wars 2®: End of Dragons, the third expansion of the MMORPG Guild Wars 2.
End of Dragons, featuring a host of gameplay features and epic adventures in the lost land of Cantha, will enrich the vast online world of one of the most enduring and popular PC games of all time.
About End of Dragons
End of Dragons ™ will feature a new story set in the mysterious island realm of Cantha, a multi-ethnic land of magic and home to the oldest human nation of Tyria. This lush, natural region dotted with islands and exotic architecture, first featured in Guild Wars Factions in 2006, has been cut off from the rest of the world for over 200 years after the Jade Wind, a magical curse, petrified everything it touched and the devastated south-eastern coastal regions. Cantha inventors have long sought practical uses for what is now known as “dragon jade.” Thanks to this vast store of magical energy, they have found solutions never dreamed of anywhere else in the world. But the dragon cycle that has sustained and destroyed Tyria for ages is collapsing. End of Dragons will introduce a host of new features, activities, and storylines to the game, including the triumphant debut of the game’s first multiplayer mount, the Siege Turtle. This walking, two-seat war machine adds co-op gameplay to Guild Wars 2’s well-known and critically acclaimed mount selection.
When End of Dragons launches in February 2022, everyone of us will be taking our first steps towards rediscovering this hidden land. A number of new speakers, including Erika Ishii, Noshir Dalal, Ry Chase, Rina Hoshino, Tina Huang and Sarah Sokolovic, will serve as guides, allies and enemies in a new adventure that promises to reveal some of the oldest secrets in the Guild Wars series to ventilate. New personal watercraft, the skiffs, serve as mobile ferries for friends and guildmates, and for the first time in Guild Wars 2 there is a chance to interact with the fauna of Tyria, be it catching dinner or attending New fishing tournaments.
Colin Johansen, Studio Director at developer ArenaNet said: “We’re really looking forward to bringing the community back to the Cantha Empire for the first time in 15 years,”.
As in the previous expansions, new Elite Specializations offer new ways for each of the nine classes of Guild Wars 2 to play even the highest level characters and master new gameplay. In addition to new masteries, a new series of legendary third-generation weapons based on the popular old dragon Aurene will be available to everyone of us at the start. They offers us the ultimate reward for heroic characters, while new Assault Missions offer challenging encounters that can be tackled with a ten-man squad. For the first time, shortly after the start of End of Dragons, Challenge Modes will be unlocked for each of the new Assault Missions that will test even the most battle-hardened groups.
