Perfect World and Cryptic Studios are pleased to announce that Captain Janeway from Star Trek: Voyager will make his first appearance in the game Star Trek Online in the latest expansion, Shadow’s Advance on PC and coming to consoles in March to celebrate the anniversary.
As part of the 12th anniversary of Star Trek Online, the development team is thrilled to welcome Kate Mulgrew, who played Katherine Janeway as one of the first female captains in Star Trek history. We will encounter the Prime and Mirror Universe versions of Janeway in a mission, as well as Captain Killy (Mary Wiseman from Star Trek: Discovery) and Admiral Leeta (Chase Masterson from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine).
Shadow’s Advance brings not only a new Featured Episode to the game, but also an exciting new Space Task Force and the Anniversary Event where we can earn a coveted grand prize, the Jarok Alliance Carrier.
Star Trek Online history with mirror version
For the first time in Star Trek Online history, we will be able to play as the mirror version of our own character in the episode All on Red. The Captains join the Terran Forces under the command of Marshal Janeway (Kate Mulgrew, the original actress of this character from Star Trek: Voyager, who last appeared in the animated series Star Trek: Prodigy) to work on Jupiter Station in Federation space to kidnap a person of great importance. Also included is Captain Killy (Mary Wiseman), the mirror version of Sylvia Tilly from Star Trek: Discovery. The game’s latest season follows the story from the perspective of Admiral Janeway from the prime universe, who retells these events.
Achievements of Star Trek Online from the beginning until now
Shadow’s Advance also celebrates the 12th anniversary of Star Trek Online, as the free-to-play MMORPG was released on PC on February 2nd, 2010. Since launch, millions of Captains from around the world have explored the Star Trek universe. The game’s massive repertoire spans 25 seasons, over 750 ships, countless missions, and more episodes than any other Star Trek television series. To celebrate this milestone, the developers have brought back the Omega Molecule Stabilization mission, a fan-favorite event that helps us unlock this year’s free anniversary ship, the Jarok Alliance Carrier [T6].
The full list of Shadow’s Advance content includes:
New Featured Episode – In the new episode All on Red, we will work with Marshal Janeway and the Terran Forces under her command to kidnap a person from a secured facility.
New Task Force – With the new season comes a new task force for five captains called “Iuppiter Iratus”. We must assemble a team of five to stop the Terran Empire from stealing valuable data from Jupiter Station.
Anniversary Event – By popular demand, the developers have relaunched the Omega Molecule Stabilization mission, which requires us to stabilize omega molecules that Q has scattered across the galaxy. Participation in this event and the matching Mirror Universe TFO will unlock this year’s anniversary ship, the Jarok Alliance Carrier [T6].
Original Actor – Star Trek Online welcomes to the game Kate Mulgrew, the original actress of Captain Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager. We will also meet the mischievous Captain Killy (Mary Wiseman from Star Trek: Discovery) and Admiral Leeta (Chase Masterson from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), who also starred in our final season, Reflections.
