Warner Bros. Games announced that MultiVersus will be adding three new characters to the game’s ever-growing roster of heroes and personalities, including basketball superstar LeBron James (Space Jam: A New Legacy), and Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith from the hit animated series Rick and Morty.
The new gameplay trailer gives a first look at LeBron James in-game, in his likeness and uniform from the movie Space Jam: A New Legacy. LeBron is the ultimate teammate in MultiVersus, adaptable to any playstyle, backed by his unbeatable basketball moves, from dunks and alley-oops to assists and rebounds and more. LeBron will be playable from the start of the MultiVersus Open Beta on July 26th.
Rick Sanchez, the genius scientist, offers a range of abilities in MultiVersus, many of which make use of his signature portal gun and can be strategically combined with his other tricks, such as summoning Meeseeks. Morty Smith, Rick’s teenage grandson and friend on countless adventures, wields a mix of missile and counterattack-focused abilities, including grenade weapons and the ability to hurl himself at enemies. Morty will be playable with the start of MultiVersus Season 1 on August 9th. Rick will also be part of Season 1; its release date will be confirmed at a later date.

The MultiVersus Open Beta will be available on July 26th for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Early access to the Open Beta is available now for players who previously participated in the MultiVersus Closed Alpha and anyone who received a code via Twitch Drops. We can also get early access to the Open Beta by purchasing a MultiVersus Founder’s Pack, which includes various tiers of game content in Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Editions.
